After spending a wonderful Sunday with the family and talking with the voters in the Beverley Manor District, I had time to reflect on some of the blessings in my life. First and foremost, I’m blessed and thankful for the past 17 years of marriage to my wonderful wife, Tammy. I’m also grateful for our four children and our wonderful grandchildren. The Lord has blessed me every morning when I wake up in the greatest county and country on earth.
Being a first responder for over 44 years does take a toll sometimes, but it’s a life I have never regretted for a second. After moving to Virginia in 1992, I joined the New Hope Volunteer Fire Department and am proud to be its longest-active member. In July of this year, I will retire as a Lieutenant from the Augusta County Fire Department.
I truly enjoy serving the great citizens of this county. My service as a first responder has prepared me for what I hope is the next step in my service journey: your representative in Beverley Manor District. I promise, just like my 44 years of service as a 1st responder, I will always put the citizens first and never be beholden to any group or organization. And while I do think of myself as a “good old boy”, I will never be a part of the “good old boy” network.
